Canon 300mm F4L IS USM - Test Shots

Earlier today I went hiking on the hills of North Wales just past Conwy.  I took my new Canon 300mm F4L IS USM with me for a test run.  I captured a variety of wild life from Ponies to small birds.  Although the Canon 300mm F4L IS USM is  rather long in length,  one of the key advantages with this lens is it's weight.  The lens is very light to hold and in addition has image stabilisation which means every shot can be taken hand held (no need for a tripod).

The shot I was actually after today was a Red Kite in flight.  I always see these birds when I am out walking in the hills but the day I take my camera there is not one to be seen.  Typical!!

I am very happy with new my lens which as been purchased especially for capturing wild life for my Getty Images submissions.
