Stonechat wild birds

The Snowdonia National Park is not only an area of outstanding natural beauty offering some of the most dramatic landscape this country has to offer but as you would expect, is also teaming with wildlife. I have been to the mountains of  Penmeanmawr on the North Wales coast to capture this tiny wild bird... The Stonechat.

The Stonechat is a very small robin sized bird which gets it's name from the sound it makes which is very similar to stones being bumped together. Although a rather shy bird they are often found perched on the highest branches of small bushes and shrubs.

To get close enough to capture a nice image, I set my hide up (shown on the last picture below) within the mix of the bushes.  I did not have to wait long before these tiny birds where doing what they do best...perching and chirping!

My images from the shoot will be submitted to Getty Images.  Some sample images from the shoot below:-
